Posted on May 25, 2012 by philipp

Unipol Bologna – Danesi Nettuno 4-2

Right-hander Jesus Matos led Unipol Bologna to a 4-2 win over Danesi Nettuno on Thursday evening in the Italian Baseball League. He allowed just two unearned runs on three hits and a pair of walks in six innings, while striking out 11. Fortitudo took the lead in the second inning on a RBI triple by Alessandro Vaglio and a RBI single by Marco Sabbatani. Another Sabbatani RBI single and a sac fly by Andrea D’Amico made it 4-0 in the fourth. Giuseppe Mazzanti put Nettuno on the board in the sixth with a two-run double to right. The guests couldn’t do much more afterward, as they went down in order against Felix Romero, who struck out six in three perfect relief innings. Juan Figueroa conceded five hits, four runs (2 ER) and a walk in five innings to take the loss.
