Four Ex Major Leaguers plus a couple of European Baseball veterans will be in Barcelona, Spain from September 2 to 4 to hold a baseball clinic for players ages 10 to 18. Former big leaguers Luis Alicea (second baseman, 13 seasons in MLB), Jeffrey Hammonds (outfielder, 13 seasons in MLB), Charles Johnson (catcher, four consecutive gold gloves between 1995 and 1998) and Michael Tucker (outfielder, 12 seasons in MLB) will make the trip to Europe.
Also on hand will be Davide Dallospedale (infielder, retired after 14 seasons in Italian baseball, lives in US), Fabio Betto (pitcher, 19 seasons in Italian baseball), Jorge Miqueleiz (current manager CB Barcelona), Oscar Roman (captain CB Barcelona), Jordi Valles (Technical Director Catalan Baseball and Softball Federation) and Andrew D’Auria (general manager USSSA) will be on hand as well.
The clinic is organized in cooperation of USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association), ABR (Amateur Baseball Report), Buysball, the Catalan Baseball and Softball Federation (FCBS) and the Royal Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation (RFEBS).
