The Czech All-Star Game ended with a 11-3 victory for the Czech All-Stars versus reigning Czech champion Technika Brno. A nice crowd watched the festivities, which included kids events and a home run derby won by Pavel Budsky over Jakub Malik in the finals.
The All-Stars jumped out to a 6-0 lead off starting pitcher Leos Kubat in the first inning. Lead-off batter Martin Veseley and #2 hitter Martin Drong hit back-to-back home runs to start the game. Malik, Jan Drabek, and Matej Hejma also had hits in the first inning. Budsky blasted his first of of two home runs on the day to give the All-Stars a 6-0 lead.
The All-Stars scored four more runs in the 2nd inning to gain a commanding 10-0 lead. Technika Brno scored three runs on a Richard Sazavsky three-run home run to make it 10-3 after two.
On the day, the All-Stars used nine pitchers, starting with Jan Blazek. Petr Minarik, Marek Cervenka, Marian Gajdos, Jan Tomek, Martin Drong, Michael Kral, Jan Homolka and Radim Chroust limited Technika Brno to just five hits on the day. The defense did not make an error in the game.
The All-Stars got quality at bats from Vesely, Drong, Malik, Martin Schneider, Drabek, Hejma, Budsky and Basilio Hernandez. Drong had three hits on the day, Budsky had two home runs.
Technika Brno played host to a great event and a great day of baseball for the fans of Czech baseball.
