Grosseto Baseball has officially signed Czech right-handed pitcher Boris Bokaj. The 26-year-old pitched for the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg in the past two years. Before that he had played for Arrows Ostrava in the Czech Extraleague. It was rumored all winter that Bokaj ends up in Italy. At first Danesi Nettuno was interested, but a deal didn’t go through. Manager Mike Hartley thinks about using him as second-game starter this week in case Panagiotis Sikaras is used in relief in game one. Otherwise the Czech newcomer will be used in relief. Grosseto faces Cariparma Parma in week four of the Italian Baseball League.
