Posted on April 16, 2012 by philipp

In the Spanish Division de Honor the Tenerife Marlins ended the undefeated streak of defending champion CB Barcelona. One week after winning the Copa del Rey final against the same opponent the team from the Canary Islands shut out Barcelona 5-0 in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. Lowuin Sacramento allowed just four hits and a walk in a complete game shutout. Barcelona got back at them in the second match, winning 5-4 in ten innings. Jose Luis Riera singled in the winning run in the tenth. They had tied the game with two outs in the ninth.

CB Barcelona remains at the top of the standings. The Astros Valencia follow in second place after their matchups with San Inazio Bilbao got rained out. The Marlins moved up into third. In the other matchups this weekend CD Pamplona split a two-game set with El Llano. CB Viladecans blew out Halcones de Vigo, scoring 29 runs combined in the two games. CB Sant Boi had to settle for the split against Baseball Navarra.
