Aaron Hornostaj joins Stuttgart Reds

Posted on April 7, 2012 by philipp

Infielder Aaron Hornostaj has found a new team. While the official announcement hasn’t been made, the Canadian with British passport played his first two games for the Stuttgart Reds in the German Baseball-Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon. The 28-year-old played seven seasons for San Francisco Giants (drafted in 2001) farm teams. After one year of Independent League play he turned his head towards European Baseball.

In 2010 Hornostaj joined the Rouen Huskies in the French Division I and one year later moved on to the Astros Valencia in the Spanish Division de Honor. He played for the British National Team at the 2010 European Championship in Stuttgart, Heidenheim and Neuenburg. Last year he was led Great Britain to the European Championship Qualifier victory in Tel Aviv, getting named MVP and best batter of the tournament in the process.
