The GEI Athletics Attnang-Puchheim announced on Wednesday the signing of 25-year-old right-handed pitcher Kris Edwards. He is coming from the Northern League to Austria.

His college profile:

Started his college career at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater before suffering arm troubles. He recovered from Tommy John surgery and had three strong seasons with the University of St. Thomas. He contributed to UST’s 2009 national championship team; ranked among the NCAA Division III earned-run average leaders in 2010; pitched well in summer 2010 with the Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League; and was All-Region and All-MIAC in 2010 and 2011. He went on to sign with the St. Paul Saints of the American Association of Independent Baseball in the summer of 2011.
