Race for two Playoff Spots open

Officially last weekend the last round was scheduled, but the weather caused a disproportion in the number of games among Extraleague teams. On the one side are Technika Brno, Tegola Titans and Black Hill Blansko, which will play just one postponed game the next few days. On the other side is Krc Altron, which has to make up still six games.

With three losses to Technika Brno (11-8, 11-10) and MZLU Express (7-2) the Titans passed on a chance to promote for the fall playoffs. Black Hill Blansko will finish eighth and has to wait for the fifth-ranked team, which will be the playdown opponent. The Tegola Titans are going to stay in seventh and will face the sixth team after the regular season.

The top of the Extraleague standings is clear as well. AVG Draci Brno dominates with only three losses during the season and awaits the fourth in the semi-finals. The Arrows Ostrava swept Sunday’s doubleheader with Black Hill Blansko (10-5, 11-1) and secured second place in the standings. They could face AVG Draci in the finals, if they can move past the third-ranked club in the semis.

The last two spots for the playoffs are still open. Technika Brno, MZLU Express Brno, Skokani Olomouc and Krc Altron, all have twelve losses in the standings and it’s very hard predict who will be lucky on September 7th after games between MZLU Express Brno and Tegola Titans. Maybe Saturday’s doubleheader between Krc Altron and Skokani Olomouc can solve the logjam.

This is the program of teams which fight for the last two playoff spots:
Technika Brno – Wed Sep 3rd Skokani
MZLU Express Brno – Tue Sep 2nd @Draci, Sat Sep 6th DH @Krc, Sun Sep 7th Titans
Skokani Olomouc – Sat Aug 30th DH @Krc, Wed Sep 3rd @Technika, Sat Sep 6th DH @Draci
Krc Altron – Sat Aug 30th DH Skokani, Sun Aug 31st DH Arrows, Sat Sep 6th DH Express
