Cariparma Parma has found a new foreign starting pitcher. Angel Salazar is a 22-year-old right-hander with a 94 MPH fastball. He is the third big acquisition after Osman Marval and Andrea Pizziconi for the champion from 2010. Salazar played in Japan and in the Venezuelan Liga Paralela. His arrival is also important for the Angels, as Marco Grifantini is most likely going to miss the first half of the regular season due to an elbow injury and due to a lack of conditioning of Justin Cicatello. Parma is going to play preseason games against the Czech Junior national team and in a tournament with T&A San Marino, Fortitudo Bologna and the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe this March.
