It took a while to work out an agreement between Danesi Nettuno and Telemarket Rimini, but left-handed pitcher Carlos Pezzullo has officially joined the Pirates on a one-year loan contract. The 29-year-old from Maracay, Venezuela, who has an Italian passport, is playing in Italy since the 2004 season. After his debut with Paterno he moved on to Nettuno in 2006. Last year, he was solely used as a reliever, producing a 2.90 ERA in 15 games. He collected 21 strikeouts and 11 walks in 31 innings.
