Australia received two homeruns by Simmone Morrow to beat China 3-1 on day three of the Softball tournament in Beijing. Morrow led off the game with a solo shot and added two more runs in the second with another homer. China cut the deficit to 1-3 in the third on a RBI single by Yanhong Yu.
Tanya Harding (W 1-1) allowed just two hits, a run and a walk in three innings. Huili Yu (L 1-1) gave up two hits, three runs and four base on balls in 1 1/3 innings.
Japan – Netherlands 3-0

The Dutch Women Softball team still waits for their first win in China. Hiroko Sakai (W 2-0) struck out six in six three-hit, one-walk innings to lead Japan in a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. Three RBI singles by Eri Yamada, Satoko Mabuchi and Rie Sato provided the necessary run support.
Holland managed just four hits through Britt Vonk, Marloes Fellinger, Daisy De Peinder and Marjan Smit in the seven-inning affair. Judith Van Kampen (L 0-1) started for the first time and allowed eight hits, three runs and two bb in six innings.
Taiwan – Venezuela 3-0

Taiwan celebrated a 3-0 shutout against Venezuela on Thursday. Chia-Yen Wu (W 1-1) combined with Ming-Hui Chueh to throw a three-hitter.
The first two batters of Chinese Taipei reached and Hsiao-Ting Lo drove them in with a double to make it 2-0 after one frame. Hsueh-Mei Lu added to the cushion with a solo shot in the fourth.
Johana Gomez (L 0-2) gave up five hits, three runs (2 ER) and two walks in 3 2/3 innings.
The game between Team USA and Canada was rescheduled for Friday, August 15 at 14:45 local time due to rain.
