According to a report by In Liberia Uscita shortstop Daniel Bittar of Montepaschi Grosseto is on the verge of signing with T&A San Marino. General manager Mauro Mazzotti wants to bring him in as a possible replacement for Tony Granato. Bittar led the Orioles with a batting average of .319 (OBP .379/SLG .469) with 11 extra base hits, 19 runs and 19 RBI in 30 games.
The report also includes an interview with Grosseto’s hurler Riccardo De Santis, who is on contact with all four playoff teams in the Italian Baseball League with Danesi Nettuno being the favorite, if he leaves the O’s. However he will wait how the situation unfolds with his current club.
