In the important twin bill between CB SANT BOI and the FC BARCELONA was one winner and this were the MARLINS, which extended their lead in the standings through the split.
In game one SANT BOI decided the outcome in the tenth, when Yaeko Vazquez was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in the winning run. BARCA had evened the score in the top of the ninth through a RBI double by Felix Isasi (4-5). CB had a chance to score in the bottom of the frame, but Milko Jaramillo was thrown out at home by right fielder Isasi, but they won anyway. Homer Baez (FCB) allowed five hits, four runs (3 ER) and a walk in six-plus innings, striking out seven. Albert Vargas (BOI) gave up nine hits, four runs and a base on balls in 6 1/3 innings. Fernando Quijada (W 4-0) picked up the win, Andoni Ortiz (L 1-2) took the loss.
In the second match BARCELONA avoided the sweep and won 6-5 against SANT BOI. They took a 3-1 lead in the third on Albert Diaz’ two-run triple and added three more in the seventh, scoring on a passed ball, a RBI single by Emmanuel Febles and a RBI groundout by Gil Kim. CB rallied for three runs in the eighth, but failed to bring the tying run home from third base. Remigio Leal (W 4-2) threw 143 pitches to go the distance. He allowed ten hits, five runs and two walks, while striking out ten. Yoel Hernandez (L 6-3) was charged with five hits, four runs (3 ER) and five bb in six-plus innings.
El Llano – CD Pamplona 4-3, 8-1

EL LLANO solidified fourth place in the standings with two wins against PAMPLONA. In the first part of the doubleheader they blew a 3-0 lead and won through a walk off RBI single by Roberto Noriega in the bottom of the ninth. Elvis Polanco (W 5-4), who also had two RBI, gave up seven hits, three runs (1 ER) and two walks in a complete game victory. Alexis Fumero (L 1-10) was responsible for nine hits, four runs (2 ER) and four bb in 8 2/3 innings.
The second game was not that close. The team from Gijon defeated CD 8-1 behind three hits each by Roberto Noriega, Juan Alonso and Marcos Trillo. Ruben Fente (W 1-0) struck out nine in a complete game. He allowed six hits, one run and five walks. Alberto Casanellas (L 4-8) gave up 14 hits, eight runs (3 ER) and a bb in 7 1/3 innings.
San Inazio Bilbao – CB Viladecans 9-0, 10-9

SAN INAZIO is making strides to secure fifth place. They wept the two-game series with VILADECANS the past weekend. In the first match Erik Arteaga (W 7-4, 7.1 IP, 4 H, 5 SO) and Sergio Acha combined for a four-hitter to lead them to a 9-0 shutout. Juan Manuel Nieves led the team on the offensive side with three hits, two runs and a RBI. Kelvin Marianucci drove in two. Marc Jodar (L 0-1) took the loss, giving up eight hits, five runs (4 ER) and a walk in five innings.
In the second game on Sunday, BILBAO blew an 8-0 lead, but won anyway, when they answered the VILADECANS rally with two runs in the bottom of the eighth. Juan Manuel Nieves delivered the decisive two-run single. Kelvin Marianucci led SAN INAZIO with four hits and five RBI, hitting a three-run homerun in the fifth. Dirimo Chavez and Rene Reyes also went four-for-five. Rafael Perez, Eric Segura and Miguel Catalan each had two RBI for CB. Jorge Sandez (INA) allowed three hits and two walks in 6 1/3 scoreless innings. Pol Llopis (VIL) was charged with six hits, six runs (5 ER) and three bb in 4 2/3 innings. Aitor Rubio (W 1-0) picked up the win, despite giving up all nine VILADECANS runs. Alberto Magallon (L 3-6) took the loss.
Baseball Navarra – Astros Valencia 14-0, 15-0

NAVARRA crushed the ASTROS twice on the weekend, scoring 29 runs in twelve innings to celebrate two easy and lopsided shutouts. In the first game they scored six runs in the third and seven in the fifth en route to a 14-0 win. Hector Perozo hit a bases clearing double and a three-run homerun to finish with six RBI. Five players scored twice. German Arroyo (4-4) struck out twelve in five two-hit one-walk innings for the win. Norman Nelson Cowes (L 0-10) was charged with ten hits, 13 runs (2 ER) and two bb in 4 2/3 innings.
In the second match VALENCIA fell behind 0-15 after three periods in another demoralizing loss for the overmatched team in the Spanish championship. Hector Perozo teed up again with two doubles and three RBI. Arkaitz Ordoki also drove in three. Aritz Garcia scored three times. Alberto Espanol (W 5-5) gave up just four hits in five scoreless innings. Edgar Aineto (L 0-6) allowed five hits, twelve runs (10 ER) and six walks in 2 1/3 innings.
