Nettuno, Bagialemani, Richetti hit with Fines and Suspensions

Posted on September 8, 2011September 8, 2011 by philipp

Not only got shortstop Olmo Rosario suspended due to a doping violation, Danesi Nettuno will go into the remaining up to two games of the Italian Series without a manager and one of its best pitchers.

Getting ejected in game five of the championship series in the Italian Baseball League manager Ruggero Bagialemani and pitcher Carlos Richetti will sit on the sidelines for six respective three games. Bagialemani also received a fine of 500 Euro after not leaving the dugout area following his ejection. Richetti got the longer ban trying to seek physical contact with the umpire.

Additionally Danesi Nettuno is going to play the first two 2012 games in front of an empty stadium and will be fined 1,000 Euro after “fans” threw plastic and glass bottles on to the field, causing a slight delay. According to a report by Baseball.it “fans” also shouted against the press inside the media room up to the point that police had to intervene.

Danesi Nettuno is leading 3-2 in the best-of-seven series against T&A San Marino. Games six and seven will be played in San Marino on Friday and Saturday. The Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) issued a security protocol similar to soccer games to avoid a recurrence of last Saturday’s circumstances.
