IBL Playoffs: T&A San Marino, Danesi Nettuno prevail on Friday evening

Danesi Nettuno is on the verge of getting into the Italian Series, defeating Cariparma Parma 5-2 on Friday evening to improve to 4-4 in the semi-final round and moving up into second place. A win on Saturday would clinch a final berth. Otherwise the calculators will come out. Juan Camilo drove in two runs for Nettuno, which scored four runs in the last two frames of the game. Remigio Leal (W) got the win, pitching three innings of scoreless relief. Pedro Orta (L) took the loss. Starters Jose Escalona (NET) and Roberto Corradini (PAR) allowed two runs each in six, respective seven-plus innings.

T&A San Marino scored seven runs combined in the seventh and eighth to beat Unipol Bologna 12-6 and to clinch a seat in the Italian Series. Jairo Ramos (2), Tony Granato, Carlos Duran and Francesco Imperiali hit homeruns for the Titans. Juan Carlos Infante and Joe Mazzuca had two RBI apiece for Bologna. Luca Martignoni (W) got the win, Nicholas Pugliese (L) took the loss.
