Germany misses Semis at Cadets EC despite 2-1 record

Germany dropped out of the semi-finals on Thursday, as they lost their last preliminary round game to the Czech team 6-12 and finished in third in pool A despite the same 2-1 record like Italy and the Czech due to tiebreaker rules. In the second pool Russia advanced into the final round besides the Netherlands with a 12-0 shutout against Slovakia. On Friday the Dutch and the Czech teams will meet in the first semi-final, Italy is facing Russia in the second.

Czech Republic – Germany 16-6 (5) box score
Lithuania – Netherlands 6-10 box score
Austria – Italy 5-16 (6) box score
