Results Swiss Nationalliga A June 21

Posted on June 23, 2011 by philipp

In the Swiss Nationalliga A the Zurich Challengers won a rare night game against the Zurich Barracudas 7-5 on Tuesday evening. The Challengers had built a commanding 7-1 lead midway through the seventh before the ‘Cudas made things interesting with a four-run rally. Tobias Siegrist (W 4-3) pitched six-plus innings for the win. Frank Berchtold (L 3-5) took the loss.

Game play in Swiss Baseball continues on Saturday when Eduardo Villacis (W 5-2, ERA 2.08) and the Bern Cardinals host the Embrach Mustangs after no-hitting the Zurich Lions in game two last Sunday. Villacis, who looks back at one MLB start in his career, allowed just two walks in seven scoreless no-hit innings and drove in five at the plate in a 10-0 win. Also on Saturday the Barracudas will square off with the Lions. On Sunday the Lucerne Eagles take on the Sissach Frogs and the Therwil Flyers play against the Challengers.
