Posted on June 19, 2011 by philipp

The German Baseball-Bundesliga played its last game day before the World Port Tournament. In the northern division the Dortmund Wanderers moved into fourth place in the standings. The team of head coach Matt Kemp swept the Pulheim Gophers on Sunday and took advantage of a pair of losses by the HSV Stealers against the Bonn Capitals. Already on Saturday the Untouchables Paderborn and the Solingen Alligators had won twice.

In the southern division the Haar Disciples won both games in their crucial matchup with the Mannheim Tornados, moving into third place in the standings, while the gap for the record champion towards the top four widened. Additionally the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg swept a doubleheader against the Mainz Athletics behind two homeruns of Kai Bindemann. Also the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe beat the Gauting Indians twice.
