Cariparma Parma opened a three-game series against Telemarket Rimini with a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The defending Italian Baseball League champion was led by Rodney Medina, who went 4-for-4 with a homerun, a double, two runs scored and five RBI. Davide Dallospedale and Orlando Munoz had two RBI apiece. On the mound Marco Grifantini (W) and Francesco Cozzolino combined to hold the Pirates to three hits and four walks in seven scoreless innings. Dushan Ruzic (L) got charged with ten hits, seven runs and a bb in 5 1/3 innings.

T&A San Marino overcame a 0-2 deficit to beat Montepaschi Grosseto 5-2. A two-run homerun by Carlos Duran capped a three-run rally in the bottom of the fifth to turn things around. Francesco Imperiali added another two-run homerun in the sixth to seal the deal. Andrea Sgnaolin scored both runs for Grosseto. Darwin Cubilan (W) picked up the win thanks to 4 1/3 brilliant innings of one-hit relief. He struck out six. Jean Granado (L) issued ten hits, five runs and two bb in 5 2/3 innings.
