WEP 11: Maximin Monbeig named Player of the Week in France

Posted on June 9, 2011 by philipp

Following the only duel on Sunday, the choice was hard and, after two tight games, Maximin Monbeig (Paris University Club) is named WEP11. The 17-years old player pitched a great game against the powerful lineup of Senart Templiers during the first game of the doubleheader. He launched a complete game, allowing only 4 hits, 1 earned run and 4BB while collecting 4 strikeouts. Not helped by his defense, he took the loss in a 5-6 defeat but his performance shows all his progress under Jeff Stoeckel’s management.

The young prospect joined Pole Espoir of Toulouse in last September. He played for the French Junior National team in the 2010 18U Baseball World Championship and in the 2011 MLB Academies tournament in Germany.

He will join the French Junior National team in a few days for a training camp and will play in the Europe Championships, from 4th to 10th of July, in Spain.

Through two seasons in the French Elite League his record stoods at 3-6 with a 7.97 ERA.
