Vienna Wanderers – Deurne Spartans 3-14

Box score

The Deurne Spartans scored all 14 runs in a 14-3 win over the Vienna Wanderers in the last three innings of the game. Vienna actually had a 2-0 lead earlier in the contest. Al Marquez went 3-for-6 with three RBI for the Spartans. Ten players scored for the Belgian Vice Champion. Harold Castillo (W) struck out twelve in eight innings for the win. Johannes Godler (L) issued six hits, three runs and six walks in 6 1/3 innings, striking out seven.

Montpellier Barracudas – Stockholm 7-6

Box score

The Montpellier Barracudas edged out Stockholm 7-6 on Wednesday. A RBI double by Andreadas in the bottom of the sixth for a 7-4 lead turned out to be crucial, when Stockholm plated two runs in the seventh to cut the deficit to a run. The Swedish team stranded two in scoring position in the seventh and had another chance to tie the game in the eighth, when Iverson singled, but was caught stealing moments later. Trejo followed two batters later with a triple. Rudolph Ware (W) picked up the win. Joakim Claesson (L) allowed twelve hits, seven runs (4 ER) and a walk in eight innings, striking out eight. Jean Michel Mayeur drove in three for the Barracudas.
