Cariparma Parma shut out Montepaschi Grosseto 2-0 in the Italian Baseball League on Friday. Mihai Burlea (W) hurled eight scoreless innings, issuing just seven hits and a walk, while striking out six. A fielder’s choice broke the scoreless tie in the fifth. Rodney Medina added a solo shot one frame later. Chris Cooper (L) gave up six hits, two runs (1 ER) and three bb in six innings.

Unipol Bologna – Telemarket Rimini 2-8

Paolo Tanesini drove in four runs to lead Telemarket Rimini to an 8-2 win over Unipol Bologna, evening the series on Friday. Josh Phelps added two RBI. Edgar Clemente accounted for both Fortitudo runs with a two-run triple. Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez (W) allowed four hits, two runs and a walk in 5 2/3 innings. Cody Cillo (L) was charged with eight hits, seven runs and five bb in four-plus innings.

T&A San Marino – De Angelis North East Knights 4-3

Tiago Da Silva (W) struck out 15 batters in seven innings to lead T&A San Marino to a 4-3 win over the De Angelis North East Knights. He gave up just one run on four hits. A two-run homerun by Jairo Ramos put the Titans in front in the sixth. A balk call and a RBI single by Lorenzo Avagnina made it 4-1 in the eighth before a two-out fielding error in the ninth cut the lead to a single run. However Godo-Verona couldn’t come back and took the loss. Danilo Sanchez hit a solo homerun for the Knights in the fourth. Edgar Arimendi (L) conceded seven hits, two runs and two bb in six innings.

Danesi Nettuno – Novara United 4-2

Danesi Nettuno overcame a 0-2 deficit to beat Novara United 4-2. A two-run double by Kelly Ramos started the game-changing rally in the seventh. Ramos later came around to score on a RBI single by Paolino Ambrosino to give Nettuno the lead. A RBI double by Giuseppe Mazzanti in the bottom of the eighth sealed the deal. Novara led since an error in the first and a RBI single by Stefano Musumeci in the second. Kris Wilson (W) allowed seven hits, two runs (1 ER) and two walks in seven innings. He struck out seven. Jean Toledo (NOV) issued three hits, two runs and three bb in six-plus innings. Antonio Noguera (L) took the loss.
