Cariparma Parma won a wild slugfest against Montepaschi Grosseto 11-10 in ten innings. It was a back and forth affair during the first seven innings with Grosseto scoring five runs in the third and four in the sixth, while Parma put nine runs on the board in the sixth. Montepaschi needed to tie the contest in the seventh. The game was decided in the first extra inning, when Marco Yepez delivered a go-ahead RBI single. The shortstop finished the day with four hits and four RBI. Michele Gerali and Alex Sambucci had two RBI apiece. Andrea Sgnaolin (3 RBI) went deep for Grosseto. Luis Perez also drove in three. Alessandro Vaglio went 4-for-5 with three runs. Marco Grifantini (W) picked up the win in relief, Yovany D’Amico took the loss.

Jesus Matos (W) allowed just one run on four hits in six innings to lead Unipol Bologna to a 3-1 victory over Telemarket Rimini. Bases loaded walks by Joe Mazzuca and Edgar Clemente in the fifth helped Fortitudo to turn a 0-1 deficit into a 2-1 lead. Juan Carlos Infante added a RBI double in the eighth to seal the deal. The Pirates had led since a Josh Phelps run in the second. Chris Di Roma (L) issued three hits, two runs (1 ER) and four bb in 4 1/3 innings. Usual starter Dushan Ruzic was used in relief.

T&A San Marino used three runs in the top of the ninth to beat the De Angelis North East Knights 4-2 in the series opener on Thursday. A wild pitch tied the game, while a two-run single by Carlos Duran gave the Titans the two-run lead during the rally. Godo-Verona led since Terrence McClain hit a RBI double and later scored on a wild pitch in the sixth. Darwin Cubilan (W) pitched 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for the win. Emmanuel Ulloa (L) took the loss.
