On Saturday evening we could get a clearer picture regarding the championship in the Spanish Division de Honor. The MARLINS, currently leading the standings with a 17-3 record, are facing CB SANT BOI, which is in second with 18 wins in 22 games, on their home field. Obviously there are still several games to play, but nonetheless a possible sweep by PUERTO CRUZ could get them the momentum for the remainder of the season. In the first meeting in April each club got one victory.
The doubleheader is seeing two interesting pitching matchups. In game one Leslie Nacar (6-0, ERA 0.96) opposes Albert Vargas (7-2, ERA 1.72). In the second part Ivan Granados (8-1, ERA 2.10) is facing veteran Yoel Hernandez (4-1, ERA 2.52) with each pitching against the former team. As you can see the pitching department is pretty even. So the hot bats will probably decide the outcome. The MARLINS are relying on Dewis Navarro (.368, 21 runs, 17 RBI) and especially Richard Montiel (.356, 7 HR, 21 runs, 27 RBI). SANT BOI is lacking some power in their lineup and hopes for Marc Carrillo (.379, 12 runs, 12 RBI) and Milko Jaramillo (.338, 14 runs, 13 RBI) providing the offense. These are going to be two thrilling games on Saturday.
