Neptunus with tough tasks as Hoofdklasse continues

Posted on June 26, 2008 by philipp

After finishing in third place at the European Cup in Regensburg, Germany, DOOR NEPTUNUS faces another tough task in the Dutch Hoofdklasse this week. Tonight they are playing against the local rivals SPARTA/FEYENOORD, who have won the last four games in a row and still are knocking on the door for a spot in the playoffs. They already have won two of three games against NEPTUNUS this season. They will send Tim Roodenburg (SPA) and Leon Boyd (NEP) to the mound.

On Saturday and Sunday DOOR meets with KONICA MINOLTA in another interesting matchup. The PIONIERS have won the three of the last four games, leads the league with 185 runs scored and is in third place, two games behind NEPTUNUS. Starting pitchers for this series are not announced yet.

First-ranked CORENDON KINHEIM defends their five-game winning streak against RCH MEDIA MONKS and SPARTA/FEYENOORD.   Robin Van Eis will start today. David Bergman and Patrick Beljaards will follow him this weekend. RCH has assigned Joran Klarenbeek to starting duties on Thursday.
