The Belgian First Division opened the 2011 season this weekend with several interesting results. Defending champion Hoboken Pioneers got crushed by the Merchtem Cats on Saturday, but got payback one day later. Meanwhile the Port of Antwerp Greys, the Mortsel Stars and the promoted Borgerhout Squirrels celebrated sweeps in their two-game series.
