Last week before the break in Austrian Baseball League

Posted on June 14, 2008June 13, 2008 by philipp

After the next weekend, the Austrian Baseball League makes a break of about five weeks due to the European Cup, the All Star event, which kicks off the preparation of the National Team, which will play in the European Qualifier in Antwerp in July.

The leader in the ABL standings, the UNION KUFSTEIN VIKINGS already have off this week, as they travel to Brno for the European Cup Qualifier. The other participant, the VIENNA METROSTARS (play in Blagoewgrad, Bulgaria) host the SCHWAZ TIGERS and try to get back on track in the championship. The reigning title holder in Austria struggled the past few game days and dropped to fifth in the standings with a 7-7 record. The TIGERS for itself have a pretty good year so far, being ranked third with eight wins in twelve games.

In other matchups the MOSQUITO ATHLETICS host the DORNBIRN INDIANS and the STOCK CITY CUBS face the SUPERFUND WANDERERS.
