The 30-year-old catcher/infielder Matt Merrifield is going to play for Stockholm in the Swedish Elitserien this summer. He is coming from Tranås, which withdrew from the competition this winter. He played there since 2004. During his baseball career in Sweden he batted .347/.437/.574 with 25 homeruns, 197 runs and 144 RBI in seven seasons.
