The Austrian Baseball Champion Athletics Attnang-Puchheim has found a successor for Alper Bozkurt as new head coach. The 43-year-old American Trevor Rooper is going to be responsible for all teams of the club in the upcoming season. He started coaching in 2001. Five years later he became the head coach of the Dutch Hoofdklasse club Hoofddorp Pioniers, leading them into the playoffs. After a stint in Australia, Rooper returned to the United States, where he worked as an assistant coach for the Clackamas Community College. The Athletics will open the 2011 season on April 16 against the Vienna Wanderers.
