2011 Buchbinder Cup with Double Elimination Format

Posted on March 4, 2011 by philipp

Last weekend the German baseball website www.baseball-deutschland.de did the draw for the first round of the 2011 Buchbinder Cup. The three-day tournament with host Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg, last year’s champion Paderborn Untouchables, the Bonn Capitals and the Solingen Alligators will be played at the Armin Wolf Arena from June 11 to 13. The winner will take prize money of €1,500 home.

There will be two changes in comparison to the inaugural edition last year. The first regards the rosters, which now will consist only of players from their respective clubs without reinforcements from other teams. Secondly the tourney will be held in a double elimination format (see the picture for the chart). This should add some excitement, as every game will be important. In round one the Alligators will face the Capitals in game one, while Regensburg takes on Paderborn in game two.
