Results Spanish Division de Honor February 26&27

Posted on February 27, 2011 by philipp

Baseball is back in Europe. The ten teams in the Spanish Division de Honor opened the 2011 Season this weekend. Defending champion CB Sant Boi hadn’t much trouble with their first outing traveling to Sevilla for a matchup with the promoted Red Sox. They outscored the newcomers 25-2 in two victories, already moving into first place in the standings.

The Tenerife Marlins Puerto Cruz and San Inazio Bilbao also celebrated sweeps. But both needed extra innings in one of the two games. The Marlins took advantage of three errors in the tenth inning of game one on Saturday en route to two wins over CB Viladecans. Bilbao blew a lead and overcame a deficit in game two against CD Pamplona, also prevailing in ten innings.

In the duel of two favored teams, the Astros Valencia and the FC Barcelona settled for a split. Barca celebrated a shutout in game one, before losing the second in walk-off style. Valencia had tied the contest in the eighth and won it in the ninth. In the fifth matchup in the Division de Honor this weekend Baseball Navarra and Halcones de Vigo also split the twin bill.
