Manager Mauro Mazzotti spent nearly two weeks in Spain, holding training camps for members of the Spanish national team in Tenerife and Barcelona to get them in shape for the upcoming season. He got assistance from Miguel Erroz in Tenerife and Felix Cano, Candelario Diaz and Jorge Miqueleiz in Barcelona.
Additionally Mazzotti also extended his contract for two more years until the end of the 2012 season as head coach of the Spanish National Team. The picture shows him and RFEBS President Julio Pernas after the signature.
Spain needs to qualify for the 2012 European Championship in the Netherlands this summer. They will host the tournament in Barcelona from July 25 and 30, playing against Ireland, Switzerland, Finland and Hungary. The technical commission of the CEB recently approved the schedule with games set for 11am and 6pm at the Montjuic ballpark each day.
