Astros Valencia sign highly regarded Catcher Adrian Porres

Posted on February 15, 2011February 14, 2011 by philipp

The Valencia Astros have just signed Adrian Porres for the 2011 squad. The 23-year-old is considered as one of the best young defensive catchers in European baseball with a pop-to-pop time consistently below 1.9″ from Home to 2B. He has been part of Spanish national teams in cadets (AA) and junior (AAA) in European and World championships. His debut with the Spanish Senior National Team took place at age 17. He had not participated in the Spanish national league for almost two years because of injuries and on account of his professional career in commercial aviation. With this signing, the Astros recuperate one of its most talented, home-grown stars which will help them become a very competitive team in the upcoming Spanish División de Honor season.
