Player Transfers for CB Sant Boi, CB Viladecans

Posted on February 14, 2011February 14, 2011 by philipp

While we already knew about everything regarding the transfer activities of the FC Barcelona, we hadn’t heard that much about the other two Catalonian Division de Honor teams. But a few days ago the Catalonian Baseball and Softball Federation posted an overview on its website.

Reigning Spanish champion CB Sant Boi is losing Jose Luis Riera (FC Barcelona), Jose Estebin Cruz (Italy), Jose Luis Salazar (FC Barcelona), Gaspard Fessy, Junior Guerra and Juan Guanchez (all three destination unknown). On the other they are adding infielder Daniel Adolfo Fernandez, utility man Stefano Pistocchi and pitchers Alexander J. Hernandez and Lowuin Sacramento.

For record title holder CB Viladecans, Fabian Marques and Miguel Valdes will not return for the 2011 season. On the plus side they have brought over Carlos Luis Amaro Alejo. The right-hander is 26 years old and from Venezuela. He spent three seasons in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization from 2006 to 2008. He had an ERA of 3.40 between Rookie and High-A ball with 117 strikeouts and 36 walks in 158 2/3 innings.
