Tony Granadillo from San Inazio Bilbao to Mr. Cocker HCAW

Posted on February 10, 2011February 10, 2011 by philipp

For a second year in a row the Dutch Hoofdklasse club Mr. Cocker HCAW is looking to the Spanish Division de Honor club San Inazio Bilbao to pick up a new player. Former minor leaguer Tony Granadillo is joining Roger Luque and Dirimo Chavez in Bussum according to a report by Honkbalsite.com. Chavez had chosen the same path last year.

Granadillo is supposed to replace the production of Wuilliuans Vasquez at HCAW, who has left for the Italian Baseball League and T&A San Marino. The 26-year-old Venezuelan batted .477 (OBP .563/SLG .735) with eight homeruns, ten doubles, 40 runs and 34 RBI in 36 games for Bilbao last season, winning the triple crown in Spanish Baseball. He was a member of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox organizations from 2004 to 2008.
