Mainz Athletics replace Daniel Hayes with Keigo Miyagi

Posted on May 25, 2008April 9, 2021 by MrBB

You don’t have to be a big prophet to tell that the reigning german champion, the Mainz Athletics, is unhappy with the performance of middle-infielder and pitcher Daniel Hayes, as he was replaced as a starter for the second game by Nils Hartkopf since they faced the Haar Disciples the week before Whitsun.

As the club announced he will be replaced on short notice, Mannheim this last saturday has been the last game he played for the Athletics.
The spot will be filled with Keigo Miyagi, well known to the german bundesliga, as the japanese was one of the major impacts to led Mainz to the 2007 championship and was awarded as Best Pitcher in last years final. He is expected to arrive tuesday and already will travel with the team to Heidenheim next week.
