Posted on December 29, 2010 by philipp

The Australian Baseball League resumed play on Wednesday as the Canberra Cavalry shut out the Adelaide Bite 4-0. Dutch shortstop Mariekson Gregorius made his first ABL homerun count, as his three-run shot in the third decided the outcome early. Canberra added a fourth run in the eighth on a RBI single by Kyu-Hyun Moon. On the mound Jun Hyeok Hun (6 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 5 SO, W 3-4), Tim Atherton and Hayden Beard combined to allow just three hits in nine scoreless innings. Mark Brackman (L 1-1) took the loss, issuing five hits, three runs (2 ER) and a bb in 5 1/3 innings. German first baseman Donald Lutz had a double and a walk in four plate appearances for the Cavalry.
