The FC Barcelona is reinforcing its bullpen for the upcoming season in the Spanish Division de Honor with left-handed pitcher Ricardo Hernandez. The 22-year-old Venezuelan spent four seasons in the Florida Marlins organization between 2006 and 2009. Playing as high as High-A he had a 5-8 record with ten saves and an ERA of 4.08 in 69 games. He struck out 90 batters in 108 innings, while walking 35. At Barça he joins Jason Friedman, Jorge Balboa, Oscar Jimenez and Jonatan Garcia in the bullpen. They will open the 2011 season on the road on February 26 against the Astros Valencia.
