The great French baseball website Bafinfos.com will be closing shop in a couple of weeks. Too bad. But on Wednesday they published a first set of transactions from the French Elite League.
Pessac Panthers
The promoted Pessac Panthers have confirmed that Sebastien Boyer and Maxime Charlot will play for the team in 2011. Boyer comes from the Savigny Lions where he batted .300/.438/.360 in 15 games. Charlot wore the jersey of Stade Toulousain and led the club batting .304/.423/.443 in 22 games.
Templiers Senart
The lone current French minor leaguer, Frederic Hanvi, is no longer going to play for the Montigny Cougars when he is not in the United States taking the field for a Minnesota Twins affiliate. The catcher/outfielder has joined the Templiers Senart. He could be an important addition during the playoffs in September and October.
Savigny Lions
This year’s vice champion, the Savigny Lions, welcome three new players for the next season. The pitching brothers Amin and Ilyas Touahri are leaving the Nationale 1 club Thiais to join the Lions. Amin had an ERA of 2.07 and a .362 batting average in 2010. Ilyas struck out 42 in 43 innings, while batting .375. Additionally they are getting infielder Luis Aponte from the Templiers. He batted .306/.372/.306 in just 36 at-bats through 14 games for Senart in 2010.
