Kufstein Vikings take over first in ABL

Posted on May 20, 2008 by philipp

The UNION KUFSTEIN VIKINGS won both games against the ATTNANG-PUCHHEIM ATHLETICS last weekend and took over first position in the standings of the Austrian Baseball League.  They scored ten runs in the first game, winning 10-6 and got a 4-3 victory in the second part of the doubleheader.

The duel for the crown in Vienna had only one match, as the second was cancelled during the fourth frame due to rain. The METROSTARS won 8-3 in the series opener against SUPERFUND WANDERERS.

The INDIANS swept the doubleheader against the BANDITS. They won the first game regularly 10-7 and received a 9-0 in the second, when an ejection for LINZ led to the forfeit, because they had no more enough players on the field.

The CUBS won one match against the TIGERS 10-9 and had a 7-0 advantage in the second, which was called due to missing lights. They will resume play on August 2.
