Schedule announced for 2011 Season in Spanish Division de Honor

Posted on December 13, 2010 by philipp

The Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation released the schedule for the 2011 season in the Division de Honor on Friday. As already published Spain is going to kick off the year in European Baseball at the last weekend of February and is going to play through July 16/17 (or August 7/8 due to eventual make-up games).

The first game day features the duel between the promoted Red Sox Sevilla and defending champion CB Sant Boi. Additionally record title holder CB Viladecans hosts the Tenerife Marlins Puerto Cruz, the FC Barcelona travels to Valencia for a matchup with the Astros, San Inazio Bilbao faces CD Pamplona and Baseball Navarra takes on Halcones de Vigo.

Barcelona and Sant Boi play against each in week five. One week later the Marlins and Barca will square off. The duel between Tenerife and Sant Boi is set for week nine, closing out the first part of the season. As usually every win and loss in Spanish Baseball is especially important as there are no playoffs and the first-ranked team after 36 games will be crowned champion.
