Halcones de Vigo reinforces Roster for 2011 Season

Posted on December 6, 2010 by philipp

Halcones de Vigo, which finished in eighth place in the Spanish Division de Honor this year, is making long strides to reinforce the roster for the 2011 season. They are adding first baseman Roberto Noriega, catcher Jose Morales and right-handed pitcher Miguel Rizo which played for the relegated El Llano in 2009, respective 2008. Additionally Tenerife Marlins catcher Javier Flores will join Halcones.

Noriega (.375/.439/.458 in 2009) and Morales (.317/.404/.472 in 2009) led the Gijon-based club offensively two years ago, but didn’t play for them when the club ran into financial troubles last winter. Rizo, who was one of the best pitchers in the league a few years ago, attacked an umpire during a game in the 2008 season and was suspended since then. Flores (.370/.400/.496) also already played for Vigo in the past. However the last two seasons he spent with CB Sant Boi and Puerto Cruz.
