Sheldon leaves San Marino, Grosseto with new IBL2 Team

In an interview with Baseball.it T&A San Marino vice president Massimiliano Carlini revealed that the popular utility man David Sheldon is leaving the Italian Baseball League club after six seasons. He batted .231 (OBP .352/SLG .269) with 14 runs and nine RBI in 33 games (29 starts) this year. The 47-year-old former minor leaguer in the Chicago White Sox organization was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and is playing in Italy since 1987.

Montepaschi Grosseto

Montepaschi Grosseto is re-aligning its franchise setup for the upcoming season. SoGeSe Livorno no longer will be the IBL Division 2 team for the Orioles. Instead the club is going to use Junior Grosseto in the farm league, which celebrated its inaugural season this year. Additionally Castiglione will represent the organization in the Serie B of the Federal Championship. Livorno had a 6-20 record in the IBL2 this year.
