Pedro Pablo Belmonte

The FC Barcelona loses another key player after catcher Orlando Diaz. Right-handed starting pitcher Pedro Pablo Belmonte leaves the Catalonian club after two years to join Spanish Division de Honor opponent Astros Valencia. In two seasons in Montjuic he had an overall record of 25-2 with an ERA of 1.92 in 33 games (31 starts). He struck out 128 batters in 238 2/3 innings, while walking 31. Besides saying farewell to Diaz and Belmonte, the FC Barcelona already has added Jorge Balboa, Jose Luis Salazar, Jose Luis Riera and Pau Sancho to the mix for the 2011 season.
