Posted on November 30, 2010 by philipp

The technical commission of the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) announced on Monday the hosting cities for the Qualifiers for the 2012 European Championship in the Netherlands. The five tournaments will be played from July 25th to July 30th, 2011 in Belgium, Spain, Russia, Israel and Zagreb. Each pool is going to have five or six teams. Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Sweden, France and the Czech Republic are already qualified for the next 2012 Euros. The technical commission expects that 26 to 28 federations are going to send teams to the qualifiers. The format is as usual with a single round robin during the preliminary round and a best-of-three final. Only the winner of a qualifier is going to advance to the 2012 European Championship.
