2010 in Review – German Baseball-Bundesliga – Dohren Wild Farmers

We are underway with our review series of the European Baseball season 2010. We already looked at the Italian Baseball League and the Dutch Hoofdklasse. Now at the plate: the German Baseball-Bundesliga.

2010 Ranking: 6th place in northern division of Baseball-Bundesliga. As promoted team the Dohren Wild Farmers impressed during their first season at the top level in German Baseball.
Runs Scored: 115 (8th)
Runs Allowed: 183 (7th)

Best Batter: Tyson Jaquez. The 23-year-old American catcher/third baseman led the northern division with a .429 batting average and an on-base-percentage of .508 and was second in the league with a slugging percentage of .638. He hit five homeruns, scored 21 runs and drove in 23.
Best OPS: Tyson Jaquez 1.146 (2nd in league)

Most Runs Scored: Jan Hassenpflug 22
Most Stolen Bases: Johannes Petzold 6

Best Pitcher: Vince DeCoito. The 27-year-old American right-hander had an 8-5 record with an ERA of 2.94 in 14 starts during the regular season. He struck out 136 batters in 110 1/3 innings, while walking 26. He handed northern division winner Solingen Alligators two of their four losses this year.

Best ERA Reliever: Gerrit Reger 8.44 (minimum 15 IP)
Most Strikeouts: Vince DeCoito 136 (2nd)
Most Walks: Thies Brunckhorst 50
