Posted on November 24, 2010 by philipp

T&A San Marino

Baseball.it reports that T&A San Marino has added a second Italian national teamer to the 2011 roster. First baseman/designated hitter Jairo Ramos Gizzi is leaving UGF Fortitudo Bologna and follows outfielder Laidel Chapelli, who is joining the Titans too, after one season with Telemarket Rimini. Ramos Gizzi batted .325 (OBP .438/SLG .430) with 13 extra base hits, 25 runs and 32 RBI in 42 games this year. He also won the European Championship with Italy this summer.

Montepaschi Grosseto

The Orioles will bring back catcher/designated hitter Manuel Gasparri, who last played in Grosseto in 2004. He wore the jersey of Cariparma Parma this summer, batting .274 (OBP .352/SLG .349) with 15 runs and 20 RBI in 32 games (30 starts) for the Italian champion. The club is working as well on the acquisition of Daniele Santolupo, who would leave the Catania Warriors, where had a batting average of .188 (OBP .271/SLG .248) in 41 games (40 starts) in the Italian Baseball League. Also an important meeting between the O’s and main sponsor Monte dei Paschi di Siena will take place on Thursday. Meanwhile Ruggero Bagialemani is expected back as manager next season.
