North: Alligators sweep doubleheader versus Paderborn

Solingen Alligators – Paderborn Untouchables 5-4, 11-1
The ALLIGATORS stayed undefeated after two eventful games against the UNTOUCHABLES. They won the first match after overcoming a 0-4 deficit in the tenth. Dominik Wulf scored the decisive run after an error by PADERBORN. Christian Nsien had tied the contest with a RBI double in the eighth. The U’s had taken a 4-0 lead in the third. Both starters, Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez (SOL) and Eugen Heilman (PAD) went the distance. SOLINGEN manager Peter Krueger was ejected for arguing in the eighth.

The second game featured also an ejection. This time against ALLIGATORS head coach Craig Spilker. However SOLINGEN crushed PADERBORN. They already led 5-1, when they scored five runs in the eighth to decide the outcome finally. Kai Gronauer hit a two-run homerun and scored three times overall. Andre Hughes received the win. Daniel Rahn took the loss.

Bonn Capitals – Dortmund Wanderers 11-10, 7-4

The CAPITALS received some help from their former catcher Joel Rodriguez, who is on vacation in Germany and led them to two victories against the WANDERERS. They out-slugged DORMTUND in game one. Jan Jacob drove in the go-ahead run with a walk-off RBI single. Shortstop Lennart Weller had four hits. Josh Lively (DOW) got three valid ones. Mirko Heid earned the win, Dennis Berg the loss.

BONN scored four fast runs in the second part of the doubleheader and defended the lead afterwards until getting two insurance runs in the eighth. They defeated DORMTUND 7-4. Michael Ullrich and Marc Marsch each had three hits for the home team. They relied on starter Thomas Rubis, who got the nod for the unavailable Martin Amparo. The 17-year-old Marcel Penger received the win. Michael Kaber took the loss.
