Czech Finals: AVG Draci, Technika open Championship Series

Posted on October 8, 2010 by philipp

AVG Draci Brno is hosting Technika Brno for the first two games of the championship series in the Czech Extraleague this weekend. AVG Draci is looking for their 16th straight title in Czech Baseball. They are the favorites as usual, but haven’t played much since the end of the regular season besides the three-game sweep over the Eagles Prague in the semis. Technika on the other hand played in the European Cup Playoff and had to come back from a 0-2 deficit in the semis against MZLU Express Brno. Draci and Technika last met in the championship series eight years ago with the Dragons winning 4-1. This year they played six games against each other with the reigning title holder prevailing in five of them. Pitching wise AVG Draci will mainly rely on Pat Ahearne, Wayne Ough and Petr Minarik. Technika will counter with Ryan Murphy, Trevor Caughey and Daniel Mraz.
