USA BASEBALL FINALIZES PAN AMERICAN QUALIFYING TEAM ROSTER
Preliminary round schedule in Puerto Rico announced
DURHAM, N.C. — USA Baseball has made three changes to its Pan American Qualifying Team roster and has learned who it will face in the first round of the COPABE Pan American Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico.
Brian Bocock, Brian Jeroloman and Royce Ring have been replaced on the roster by Andrew Romine, Erik Kratz and Nick Hill. Romine and Kratz will be making their first appearance in a Team USA uniform, while Hill is a veteran of the 2006 Collegiate National Team.
The team is comprised of 24 Minor League players not currently on Major League 40-man rosters. The club includes seven USA Baseball alums (Brian Barden, Todd Frazier, Hill, Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Jordan Pacheco, and Todd Redmond), four 2010 All-Star XM Futures Game participants (Hosmer, Brett Jackson, Moustakas, and Mike Trout), and four players on Baseball America’s 2010 Mid-Season Top-25 Prospects list (Hosmer, Mike Montgomery, Moustakas, and Trout). The Kansas City Royals led all Major League teams with six players on the roster – a record for the most players from one organization on a USA Baseball professional team.
